Environment

Mosaic opposes all deforestation and forest degradation and supports the maintenance and enhancement of carbon stocks in certified forests and plantations, as well as recognition being given to carbon stored in protected forests.

Our policies are as follows:

• We are committed and fully support those responsible for forest management practices that both protect biodiversity and ecosystem integrity and result in long-term social and economic benefits to human communities.
• We purchase paper products produced from forests independently certified as well-managed, with the objective of having Mosaic’s paper and board products FSC or PEFC certified.
• As a certified company by the FSC and the PEFC, Mosaic offers FSC Pure, FSC Mixed and FSC Recycled, PEFC Certified and PEFC Recycled paper and board to its clients, giving them the freedom to use environmentally sound substrates of their choice.
• To develop our facilities to be carbon neutral as far as possible. Our modern distribution facility in York is a carbon neutral project - on completion of the building, a wildlife reserve was created which included the planting of 3,600 new trees.
• We only source goods and services from suppliers that have met comprehensive supplier approval requirements. Our validation requires their commitment to adhere to our environmental principles.

These policies are based on a genuine care for the environment and forms an integral part of our business strategy.
